Privacy notice
This page explains what happens to the details you share when you leave a birthday wish for Olumide, invite him to an event, or sign up to Stay Close.
What the wish form collects
- Your full name. Only the team sees it. It is never shown on the site.
- The name to show on the wall, for example “Sister Bukola” or “The Adeyemi Family”.
- Your message.
- A photo, if you add one. We save a fresh copy of the picture, which drops hidden details stored inside the file, such as the location where it was taken and the camera used.
- Your answers to the consent boxes: that your wish may be shown publicly, that you've read this notice, and, if a child appears in your photo, that you are their parent or guardian or have their permission.
- A scrambled code made from your internet address, used only to stop the form being flooded with messages. This site never stores your actual address, and the code is deleted after 30 days.
Who sees it
- Before it's approved: only the small team who look after this site. Nothing appears publicly until a person on the team has read it and approved it.
- After it's approved: anyone visiting the site can see the name you chose to show, your message and your photo. Your full name stays private.
- Your details are stored with Supabase (the site's database and private photo storage), and the site runs on Vercel.
How long it's kept
- Wishes and photos are kept until 90 days after the celebration on 25 October 2026, unless you ask us to remove yours sooner.
- If the team decides not to publish a wish, its photo is deleted straight away. The name and message are kept in the team's private records of what was reviewed.
- When a wish is deleted, its message, both names and photo are removed. A private log keeps only what happened and when, with no names or messages.
- The scrambled code made from your internet address is deleted after 30 days.
Asking for removal
You can ask for your wish or photo to be taken down at any time, before or after it's published. Email hello@theolumideowolabi.com and tell us the name you used and roughly when you sent it.
Taking a wish down from the wall happens as soon as the team acts on your request. If you ask for it to be deleted completely, the message, both names and photo are removed as described above.
If you invite Olumide
- What we collect: your name, organisation, email address and phone number, and the event's type, date, location or online link, audience size, topic and description. As with wishes, a scrambled code made from your internet address is kept for 30 days to stop the form being flooded.
- Why: to reply to your request.
- Who sees it: only the site's administrators.
- How long it's kept: Requests are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted.
If you sign up to Stay Close
- What we collect: your email address and the time you agreed to receive the monthly note, with which version of the sign-up wording you saw. A scrambled code made from your internet address is kept for 30 days to stop the form being flooded.
- Why: to send you one note a month.
- Who sees it: only the site's administrators.
- How long it's kept: Your address is kept until you ask to be removed. To be removed, write to hello@theolumideowolabi.com.
We ask whether you are 18 or above so we can group our audience and, if you choose Mandate, whether you are a man, to keep Mandate a space for men. We use these for nothing else, and we do not sell or share them.
